Abstract
THE first edition of this standard Spanish textbook was published in 1927. It has now been brought up to date (1939), mainly by a considerable expansion of the sections on the external galaxies. No mention is made in the text of such recently discovered objects as Hermes or Jupiter X and XI, or (specifically) of the geophysical effects of chromospheric eruptions, but Pluto has a short section to itself.
