Abstract
HERE we have a volume of more than 700 pages with scarcely a mention of war ; there has been little diminution in the scientific production of the free peoples. It is indeed refreshing to escape into such an oasis of progress, away from the constant repetition of war news and war aims which assails us on the air and in every form of printed literature-newspaper, journal and novel.
