Abstract
DURING the course of the Timber Felling Survey organized by Prof. H. G. Champion, and undertaken for the Forestry Commission by university research parties during the summers of 1940 and 1941, it fell to my lot, as plant pathology member of the Bristol Party, to examine and make counts of the annual rings on felled timber, chiefly European larch.
