Abstract
MANY societies, leagues, associations and other bodies have concerned themselves in the past with the preservation of native British plants. The appeal is often made on aesthetic grounds. This is a sound policy, but occasionally it has seemed to get a little out of hand, and even sometimes to have defeated its object.
