Abstract

INTRODUCTION

UNDER present war-time conditions the pro-^ tein supply of the nation is of paramount importance. The problem of finding substitutes for dietary protein, therefore, in the form of simple nitrogenous compounds of a non-protein nature, capable of industrial synthesis, opens up new possibilities in war-time economy. The aim of this discussion is to show that this problem has reached a practical stage.
