Abstract
THE announcement of the departure of Prof. A. R. Radcliffe-Brown from the University of Chicago to become the first professor of social anthropology at Oxford inspired certain of his pupils to produce this volume, commemorating his work for the study of social anthropology in the United States during the past five years.
