Abstract
A JOINT discussion between Section C (Geology) and Section E (Geography) of the British Association on the “Potential Mineral Resources of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire and their Geographical Significance” was held on September 6. The region discussed included the whole of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, and a wedge of Leicestershire which penetrates northwards between the two counties. Owing to geographical barriers on the north and south, this region has always been isolated from the rest of England. Even to-day, it is still practically unaffected by those great industrial movements which are elsewhere changing the aspect of the English lowlands.
