LONDON.—The following doctorates have been awarded: D.Sc. Degree in Biochemistry on G. F. Marrian (University College) for a thesis entitled “The Chemistry of the Oestrin-producing Hormone” (Biochem. Jour., 1929–30). D.Sc. Degree in Geology on R. G. Hudson (University College) for a thesis entitled “The Lower Carboniferous (Dinantian) of the Craven Reef Belt” (Proc. Geol. Assoc., 1930). D.Sc. Degree in Physiology on P. Eggleton (University College) for a thesis entitled “The Significance of Creatine-Phosphoric Acid in the Mechanism of Muscular Contraction” (Jour. Physiol., Oct. 1930).
