Abstract
THE taxonomy of the Agropyrons is in a very unsatisfactory condition, and authorities differ widely in their classification of this genus. This undoubtedly owing to the wide range of variability existing within the so-called species and also to the large number of intergrading types that occur between these species. The difficulty of classification extends to the seeds; analysts and seed merchants are unable to separate the desirable and undesirable forms with reasonable accuracy.
