Abstract
DR. P. JESPERSEN, in an important memoir, gives a detailed account of the food of the herring in Danish waters (“Investigations of the food of the Herring in Danish Waters,” Medddelser fra Kommissionen for Havundersogelser. Serie: Planton. Bind 2, No. 2, 1928. Copenhagen). This was undertaken at the instigation of the International Council for the Investigation of the Sea, and is part of a general scheme for working out the biology of the herring in different countries of Northern Europe.
