Abstract
DURING the past winter we have had an opportunity of investigating, under the auspices of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago, the Pliocene and Pleistocene geology of that part of the Nile Valley adjacent to the Faiyum depression, and it has occurred to us that some of the results may interest readers of NATURE who followed some time ago a discussion of certain archæological problems of the Faiyum and its lakes.
