Abstract
DURING the week commening on Sept. 11, a meeting of cxceptional interest was held at Como in Italy in commenoration of the first centenary of the death. It is probable that no previous congress has ever brought together so representative a gathering of physicists, few exceptions, with very few exceptions, the leading authorities in all branches of the subject attended the meeting and gave short addresses on developments in their own fields. Fourteen countries were represented by about sixty guests who were invited to attend the congress; these included amongst their number eleven Nobel laureates. The meeting will surely be remembered as a historical one.
