Abstract
BEING essentially an experirnentalist, I am of opinion that the subject of “Progressive Lightning” is one for experiment rather than discussion, and that the simple apparatus for causing two images to move at equal speeds upon the photographic plate but in opposite directions so as to obtain opposite aberrations, which I described in NATURE of Nov. 20 last, is likely to give direct information as to fact. Dr. Simpson has this now, and I am hoping that the experiment may be made also in America, where the method has attracted some attention.
