Abstract
THE eradication of weeds is regarded by many people as merely a matter of practical farming to which scientific methods have no application. This, however, is far from being the case, and it would be equally logical to deny the importance of science in other branches of agriculture. The possibility of effective control will increase in proportion to the increase in our knowledge of the plants usually regarded as weeds, especially with regard to their habits and conditions of growth, revealing vulnerable points at which they may effectively be attacked.
