Abstract
THE first feeling of the reviewer in laying down this book by Freiherr W. v. Buddenbrock, professor of zoology at Kiel, is one of regret that it is not written in the English language so as to be more freely accessible to our university students of zoology. The publication of this comparatively elementary textbook may be taken as symptomatic of the growing appreciation on the part of zoological teachers of the importance of the physiological side of their subject.
