Abstract
MANCHESTER.—By the death of the Duke of Devonshire the University has lost its Chancellor, and although it is only a few months ago that the late Duke was elected to this office, he had as president, first of the Owens College and latterly of the University, on many occasions taken an active part in forwarding the interests of the institution.
