Abstract
THE bulk of this volume is devoted to Niagara, concerning which Mr. Holley has brought together a great deal of information on its history, geology, and local history and incidents, two-thirds of the space being occupied with the last section. The information seems to us in the main correct, though much of the miscellaneous matter included under local history and incidents is of trivial importance. The space devoted to the other “Cataracts” of the world is small, though most of the important ones are mentioned. The illustrations are good, and on the whole the book is interesting.
