Abstract
A NEW method of preparing acetylene is described by Dr. W. Suida in Wien. Akad. Ber, The method consists in heating iodoform and mercury ethide in sealed tubes to 1200; the products of the reaction are acetylene, ethylene, ethylic iodide, and mercury ethyliodide.
