Abstract
THE most efficient deep-sea thermometer constructed up to 100 the present has been the one known as Six's thermometer, with the bulb protected from pressure, as invented by Messrs. Negretti and Zanibra, and described in NATURE, vol. ix. p. 387. This instrument has been extensively used by the expeditions sent out by various governments and scientific societies.
